Soaring Eagle Bomb Threat!

mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort was closed yesterday for nearly 10 hours by what is called a credible bomb threat. Nearly 3,000 people were evacuated along with four police dogs from the Tribal Police, Michigan State Police and the Isabella County Sheriffs Department.

Tribal Chief Dennis "Vance" Kequom stated that the bomb threat was made from a prepaid cellular phone from the Farmington Hills area around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The caller stated that the casino had "three hours to evacuate."

It is noted of interest that this threat came on the second day of the new term of the Tribal Council. Seven of the past 12 members of the council, including Kequom, the chief, had not been on the council before.  Hopefully everyone realizes the great art and culture of this great Native American Tribe.
