A spearheaded program by the Forest County Potawatomi that wanted a grant for $20.5 million dollars to provide broadband access to a six county area in northern Wisconsin, was turned down for the grant but their requests have been heard and answered by Governor Jim Doyle and U.S. Deputy Commerce Secretary Dennis Hightower, as they announced that they will invest $28.7 million dollars to expand broadband Internet connection that will provide access in over 380 communities in all of the states 72 counties.
